Students may join most year groups at the start of any term or in special cases, after the half-term holidays. Students cannot join Grade 11 and 12 as these years are halfway through two-year IGCSE and A Level study programmes. Applications should be made at least two terms before your intended start date. Several year groups have waiting lists, so making an application for your child as early as possible is advised. Please click here to view term dates.
Grade group entry is determined by age. All students who are admitted, no matter how gifted or what they have been taught before, will be challenged to achieve more within these Grade groups. We do this through the setting of classes within year groups and through high-quality teaching to different abilities within each class. It is a strength of our School as we push each student to do better than they would at any other school. Please click here to view year groups for the academic year 2024 - 2025.
PRE-NURSERY, NURSERY AND RECEPTION (AGED 2 TO 4)
Children meet with teachers individually or in small groups to determine the attainment of age-related language and developmental milestones. This is followed by a discussion with parents/guardians.
GRADE 1 AND 2 (AGED 5 TO 6)
Students meet with a teacher for a one-to-one assessment of developmental progress, social skills, literacy, numeracy, and reasoning. School reports and other information gathered during the application process will also be considered where applicable. A discussion with parents/guardians will follow.
GRADE 3 TO 8 (AGED 7 TO 12)
Students are assessed using standard cognitive ability school entry tests that examine literacy, numeracy, and reasoning skills. Students will have an interview with the Head of School to establish their broader interests and character. School reports and other information gathered during the application process will also be considered where applicable. Additionally, further assessment may take place.
GRADE 9 TO 12 (AGED 13 TO 16)

School reports and other information gathered during the application process will also be considered. A senior teacher will then interview all students to establish broader interests and character.
